We have had a great month in Rang a Dó celebrating lots of events and mainly the friendships we have built within our school!
We were busy making a variety of crafts to mark Saint Brigid's Day, St Valentine's Day, the coming of Spring and friendship week! To make these, we used a variety of materials and new skills to try and create 3D effects - they are proudly displayed in our school.
We also celebrated pancake Tuesday together with some tasty pancakes - we even added some chocolate spread as an extra treat :)
We really loved welcoming the students from Junior Infants into our classroom for Reading Buddies: this has involved the students from each class, 2nd Class and Junior Infants, reading text books of various levels to one another, discussing story, settings and characters! We have been really impressed with Junior Infant reading skill and were delighted to share some of our reading tips with them too!
We also welcomed the students from 6th class in on Valentine's day to share an art project based on the Valentine's theme - we worked in groups and pairs whilst having a little chat and getting to know someone we may not know really well - this was great fun.
Finally, We are busy preparing for our First Confession coming up in March, we have been working so hard learning our prayers so we are looking forward to celebrating our First Penance with Fr O Leary very soon.
