Rang a Dó had a very busy December preparing for Christmas! We were very busy with Christmas crafts, carols, our advent countdown, and of course Christmas celebrations in school such as the school Christmas raffle, Santa's visit, attending class performances and our own little Christmas party. This month, we also took part in our very first family mass in preparation for our First Holy Communion. We bravely took to the altar for readings and presentation of gifts at the family mass.
Mrs Martin presented Holly Dalton with a special certificate for her outstanding effort to speak as Gaeilge throughout the school day - we are very proud of her. The Mattock Rangers also presented Sophie Scannell and Rose Bray with prizes for outstanding effort in their poster competition to support the team in their upcoming Leinster final! Maith Sibh cailíní!
We were very busy with arts and crafts this month too, we created beautiful glowing Christmas trees using pastels, winter scenes using paint and pastels, Christmas tree decorations using clay and Christmas cards!
Finally, we worked hard on and performed some Christmas carols to our fellow students and teachers in the school. We learned every song so well and even included a poem. Our teacher was very proud of us!
